Too cute for words

My highlight of the day was playing with Coco Bean. We played on the swings, crawled up the jungle gym, slid down the slide, rode a car/bike, played peek a boo in the tub, snuggled, talked, and laughed. With those eyes and that curly hair---he is just beautiful.

Coen Face

Coen does the cutest face when he gets excited, he flares his nostrils and sucks in. He does it when he is walking with a walker.

He still lets me rock him to sleep. I try not to do it because it makes it harder to get him to sleep for other instances but it's so hard not to. This phase is just so short!

He is like my little shadow following me wherever I go and vacuuming the floor--I will not miss that phase. The worst thing I have pulled out of his mouth so far was a nail. Yikes. Super Yikes.

Missing Happy Coen

Poor Coen had a sad day today with a high fever (103) due to a flu shot. Dad made the comment that he hated to say it but it was kind of nice to have Coen subdued. It was a lot easier to take care of him but I sure missed his smile and his curiosity. He is all over the place and he is already fighting for what is his.

Let me out

Coen was watching Joel and the kids play around at bedtime the other night and was very envious and looked like he was trying to gnaw his way out of his crib. He seems very curious which will make things interesting....

Ol' Blue Eyes

Coen is the noisiest eater I have ever heard. He groans and moans through each meal--solids and breastfeeding (which at times can cause a scene or make Joel pause a movie--he is so sound sensitive!). He has always been noisy. But in a sweet way. He is scooting around all over the place, sometimes with help. I left him in the living room this morning for a couple minutes and came back and he was gone. I found him in the kids room and Sawyer said that "London bit Coen's pajamas and dragged him into the room." I wish I could have seen it! But really though I have to be more careful with those two older siblings......
He is sleeping really well through the night most nights and is a very happy baby. He puts everything in his mouth and drools like a dog.
I am so excited about his blue eyes. I think they are here to stay!

Play Time

I discovered that Coen-- still blue eyed bytheway-- has ticklish hands.

November 22, 2010

Born at 1434, 7 lb 10 oz, 20 inches. I was kind of anxious about going under the knife again but everything went very smoothly. They had to try three times to get my IV in but after that it was great. My nurse was very nice, the anesthesiologist was very attentive and answered all of my silly questions. I went numb real quick and they got him out fast. And at last we got to hear if "it" was a boy or girl. "It's a Boy!" I got instant tears and waited til they brought him from behind the curtain. He was so alert and I could not believe that he was mine. No really. He didn't look like any of our other kids. But it would have been a hard swap and he is pretty awful cute so we will just keep him. I had to wait way to long to hold him. It was at least three hours....it was heart wrenching. And Annie Cavanaugh, my best friend,  was the one to hand him to me when he finally was brought into my room. It was so hard to ever put him down but the hospital had a strict no bed sharing policy for the safety of the babies and I had to sleep sometime. I could barely keep my eyes open after the surgery. It was a quiet few days in the hospital. I enjoyed just being with Coen. Recovery was about the same as last time with the aches and pains with every move. But just like the last two times I recovered quickly and didn't need any strong pain killers after I got out of the hospital. I remember him not sleeping well one night and being so tired that I called one of the nurses in to help. And she asked me, "well did you feed him? Is he wet?" And I wanted to say "What? Do you think this is my first time? Just take him for awhile so I can sleep woman!" But I didn't I think I probably said "Oh, okay I guess I will try to feed him again....."  The first night the nurse took him for a couple hours so I could rest, but the rest of the time I wasn't so lucky. We took him home on Thanksgiving Day and had two huge Thanksgiving meals waiting for us. We had Thanksgiving dinner for a week straight. We even had the missionaries over and they couldn't put a dent in it. I don't remember having to cook at all the first month thanks to the ward and food I had prepared. It was great. Joel was home for the first week and and then got an awesome job offer that he had to accept so then I was on my own with three little ones....which is why I think I recovered quickly (Thank you!) He slept so well so quick. I had to wake him up during the night to feed him because he was so small. But it was so nice. He isn't as good now, but he smiles now ALOT so it kinda makes up for it. Oh he is so cute, just thinking about him makes me smile.
Madalyn had Dawson the same day I went home, Thanksgiving, the little cousins are three days apart!
